CHRISTMAS PARTY CLUB NIGHT ON ZOOM
We hope that we will have a good turn out “virtually”. You are invited to participate as much or as little as you wish but we have tried to stir up the festive spirit (a glass of wine will help). It will need some effort and participation from members but it is not compulsory. If you would like to decorate your Zoom surroundings with fairy lights and tinsel and wear a Christmas jumper, Santa hat etc. that would help to create a cheery atmosphere. Don’t forget some festive food.
To sign up for the Zoom Club Night Christmas Party on 9th December please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Below is a list of the proposed items of entertainment:
- Christmas cracker joke - At the start of the meeting and to set the scene each household will be invited to share a Christmas cracker joke. It might be good to have some spares.
- Display your model MG - see below**
- Bingo – When you register for the Zoom meeting and receive your Zoom link there will be 2 attachments. One of these is your Bingo card which has 20 pictures on it. Please print it off and draw a line through 5 of the pictures at random. In order to be able to use the Bingo card more than once, squares of paper would be useful to cover the pictures as they are called.
- Scattergories – the second attachment is the score sheet that you will need for this game. Please print it off.
Any other instructions will be given on the night.
**Make a model MG – you will need to click on THIS LINK to download the template.
Then print it and get stuck in!
If your printer doesn’t like printing on card then printing it on paper and sticking it to card may make your crafting easier. Those who have made a model will be asked to display their cars at the meeting. Feel free to personalise them if you wish.
We are very aware that we would normally have our Grand Christmas Raffle at the December meeting which, due the generosity of members, raises much needed funds for Barton Camp. Our Autumn Run also raises funds for Barton Camp but, as you know, that couldn’t happen this year. We are therefore suggesting that anyone who would like to donate to Barton Camp could do so by bank transfer to BAMGOC using the bank details that can be found at the bottom of the membership form HERE. Please use the reference RAFFLE.
Any donations of £5 (or more!) that are made by 27th November will receive one of Pauline’s Christmas facemasks with their Fast Forward magazine.

NOT THE BLUEBELL RUN 2021
Not the Bluebell Run 15th and 16th May 2021.
Due to the cancellation of 2020's Not the Bluebell Run and also the closure of The Moorland Garden Hotel we will be using the Lanhydrock Hotel and Golf Club PL30 5AQ as our base in 2021 as in 2018. As this is not convenient for a couple of the people who booked originally we have some spare rooms and as before we welcome any other members who would like to participate. The intention is to stay on the nights of Friday 14th and Saturday 15th May.
On the Saturday the route will be round the west of Devon and back through Cornwall and Sunday will cross Dartmoor and down to South Devon ending near Taunton for a shorter run back to Bristol.
There are 2 Shared Executive Twin Rooms available at £169 per room per night on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis and 6 Shared Luxury Double Rooms (course facing) at £209.00 per room per night on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
A £100 per room deposit will be required to confirm the booking with the balance due by BACS a month prior to arrival.
All deposits are non-refundable so we suggest travel insurance is taken out at the time of booking.
Should the Hotel itself be closed due to Covid 19 then of course we would refund all payments or postpone should you prefer.
Members are also welcome to arrange their own accommodation (if you book direct with the hotel please let them know you're with BAMGOC) and join us for the runs only on either or both days but please let us know if you do that as you will need a route book. There will be a nominal charge of £2.50 for a route book.
