CLUB VISIT TO THE COUNTY CLASSICS MOTOR MUSEUM IN TAUNTON
On Friday 20 March Richard and Violet Delmas have organised a Club visit to the County Classics Motor Museum in Taunton https://www.countyclassicsmotormuseum.co.uk/.
The plan is to meet in the cafe at 11.00 a.m. At 11.45 a.m. we will have a guided tour (cost included in the ticket price). We can pause the tour for lunch at a time of our choosing and resume again afterwards. The ticket price is £13.95. The museum is right in the centre of Taunton and you will see from the website that there is no parking on site. Therefore you will need to use a public car park or the Park and Ride (bus passes accepted or £1 per journey)). We have also been advised that we should give our lunch choices 24hr beforehand to ensure that they have what we want in the cafe where we will have reserved tables.
If you would like to join us please let us know at
events.bamgoc@gmail.com or sign up at next week’s Club night. We will send you a menu when you sign up and also take one to Club night. We need to pay in advance so please transfer your entry ticket cost(s) to the Club account using the reference SURNAME/TAUNTON.
SORT CODE: 52-10-48
ACCOUNT NUMBER: 21772584
NAME: Bristol Area MG Owners Club
REFERENCE: SURNAME/TAUNTON
We need to have your names and the money in the BAMGOC account by Friday 13 March.
We apologise for the short notice but it has taken a bit of time to find a date that suited the Club and the museum and we wanted to avoid the school holidays.

Drive-It Day at Beaulieu
National Drive-It Day was launched in 2005 by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs to celebrate motoring heritage. It marks the One Thousand Mile Trial, which took place in 1900 to demonstrate the potential of the newly invented motor vehicle! The event also raises funds for children’s charity NSPCC and a portion of each participant ticket will go to the charity. Visit the Drive-It Day website to purchase your fundraising plate, with proceeds donated to the NSPCC, and to access the JustGiving link for donations.
Owners of pre-2005 vehicles (inclusive of 2005) of any make and model are invited to join the celebration at Beaulieu and show their support for keeping motoring heritage alive on UK roads, whilst also supporting NSPCC and their work.
All participants have the opportunity to be chosen as the winner of the Best in Show Award, selected by public vote. Prizes are awarded to the winner and runners-up.

Entrants should arrive before 8.30am for a 9.00am start.
Bring your own lunch or picnic and stop to enjoy it where you please along the route. If you choose to dine out there are a variety of eating places along the way. The non-competitive event is for classic and interesting cars and the people who enjoy using them. Entry this year will be limited to about 100 cars. The entry fee is £35 for each car for which you will receive full route instructions and a Monte Carlo style “Rally Plaque”. At the end of the Rally you will be awarded a certificate and photograph.
