France, Scotland, anywhere? Send a picture at no more than 600 pixels along the longest edge (preferably no bigger than 100kb - for help on resizing pictures click this icon )

Any interesting stories: My car is NOT for the PURIST!! In about 1990 the car was re-built on a Heritage Roadster Body Shell, but it has a GT chassis Number (accepted by DVLA) !! I bought the car in Feb 1995 and have since lavished many beneficial modifications and assessories (too many to list) but resulting in good reliability, better performance and nice handling. Very recently Chris Leverett worked his magic for me, by restoring the bodywork and respraying in 2-pack 'VW Irish Green' (a very good modern paint match to the 'original' colour). Chris condemned my 'creaky' Mountney steering wheel, so I won a nice 15" replacement wood-rim Motolita (on Ebay) - gives a real 1960's feel to the steering. My 6 Volt batteries failed to hold their charge, so Chris recommended converting to a modern 12 Volt (063 size) battery. So I've now fitted a12V Bosch 'Silver' 4001, which cost me £53 (2x6V batteries would have cost around £140). A fairly simple mod. job - new battery maintenance free and guaranteed for 4 years! Thanks for the tip Chris. I've now virtually doubled the car's Agreed Value and amazingly the insurance (3K limited miles) renewal premium (with Footman James) has stayed the same! She should fly through the MoT next week, then I'm all set for some good MG runs, hopefully with good weather to match, I hope!

How often does it go out?: frequently
Who cleans and polishes it?: me
Your most enjoyable drive?: annual Le Mans trip
Stories about car: I enjoy driving the car because it's so different from my recently-purchased Dagenham dustbin - noisy, cold, poor brakes, thirsty engine, heavy steering, etc. Usual MG attributes! But once on the move all the above shortcomings disappear with the back-to-basic driving required of such a car. And of course meeting the inevitable old fart who stops to reminisce about the time he owned an MG. It's a different world!
