BAMGOC’s supported charity
BAMGOC is essentially a club for MG owners (although anyone with an interest in
classic cars is welcome here).
However, apart from our monthly meetings, Sunday Runs,
weekends away and attendance at local events, we also raise some
money for a nominated charity. Funds are raised at our annual
Brunel Run and at various other designated events.
Since 2007 we have supported the Bristol Children's Help Society
and their Barton Camp facility near Winscombe.
Bristol Children’s Help Society offers residential and outdoor
learning experiences for children whose personal circumstances
have significantly depleted their life opportunities. This could be the
result of a wide variety of situations including disability, poverty,
parental drug or alcohol misuse, their own status (including being in
care or a carer), entering the UK as a refugee, bereavement or
mental health issues. Their aim is to promote aspiration, self-
determination and resilience through a range of outdoor, team
building activities in a rural residential setting.
Barton Camp has been in operation for nearly 140 years! The
facilities there are fantastic, with indoor accommodation and a
heated swimming pool.
BAMGOC are proud to say that, since 2007, we have raised in the
region of £28,000 for Barton Camp.
